Cleopatra Records goes to Berlin, Creux Lies | Night Nail | VV & The Void at Slaughterhouse, Berlin
The well-known Berlin party series “Passion Of Lovers” presented three current bands of the label Cleopatra Records. With the bands VV & The Void , Night Nail and Creux Lies , three bands from the post-punk and wave environment have appeared at the Slaughterhouse. A better location could not have been chosen. The small club was perfect for bands and club concerts.
VV & The Void
Valentina Veil has released her debut album “The Upper Room” last year. In their atmospheric and intense wave sound, songs alternate with elements from Minimal, Post and New Wave. VV is supported live by Brandon Robert Heinz on bass and Sven Claussen on keyboard.
Night Nail
The American dark-wave and post-punk band Night Nail has moved from Los Angeles to Berlin. This is where singer Brandon Robert and guitarist / saxophonist Justin deactivate as a duo. With their deep tracks and Brandon’s deep voice, Night Nail’s emotions transport directly through the ear into the hearts of their audiences and listeners.
Creux Lies
With Creux Lies, we finally welcomed a very hot American export in Europe. The post-punk band from Sacramento (California) has released their debut album “The Hearth” in 2018 and is therefore not entirely unknown to us. After their appearance at the Wave Gothic meeting (we reported ), there was also a small tour through Germany and Denmark.
As reported, we could already experience the band at the WGT and were already thrilled. How would the little club in Slaugtherhouse fit only to the show and music of Creux Lies ?
At about 11:30 pm the song “Made” started right away – the WGT aerobics show had to be dropped this time. Singer Ean, however, did not miss the opportunity to jump from the stage to the audience during the entire concert and dance with him extensively to the songs of his band! For many tracks, it was obvious to him how personally important the songs were to him. His emotions jumped into the audience and were able to inspire even the last audience. The whole band played like a one piece cast and gave the new and old fans a unique evening!
Afterwards it was no wonder that the complete merchandising inventory was completely sold out. Creux Lies, please come back to Germany in 2020!
