Chrome
Chrome is an influential American experimental rock band formed in San Francisco in 1975 by Damon Edge and Helios Creed. Known for their pioneering blend of punk, psychedelia, and industrial sounds, Chrome became a cornerstone of the underground scene with their innovative use of heavy distortion, feedback, and unconventional production techniques. Their groundbreaking albums, like Half Machine Lip Moves (1979) and Red Exposure (1980), are considered landmarks in the development of industrial and post-punk music. Despite several lineup changes and the passing of founding member Damon Edge in 1995, Helios Creed has kept the Chrome legacy alive, continuing to release new music and perform live. Chrome’s futuristic, dystopian aesthetic and avant-garde approach have made them enduring icons in alternative music history.
