Iggy & The Stooges
Iggy & The Stooges, originally known as The Stooges, were a groundbreaking American rock band formed in 1967 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Fronted by the legendary Iggy Pop, the band’s raw, primal sound and confrontational performances laid the foundation for what would become punk rock. Despite limited commercial success during their initial run, albums like The Stooges (1969), Fun House (1970), and Raw Power (1973) are now considered seminal works in rock history. After several breakups and reunions, The Stooges continued to influence generations of musicians with their powerful live shows and uncompromising style. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010, cementing their legacy as one of the most important proto-punk acts.
