Anti-Nowhere League
Anti-Nowhere League is a British punk rock band formed in 1980, known for their aggressive sound, rebellious attitude, and provocative lyrics. Led by frontman Animal (Nick Culmer), the band quickly gained notoriety with their debut single, a cover of Ralph McTell’s “Streets of London,” paired with the infamous B-side “So What,” a track that became a defining anthem of the band’s no-holds-barred approach. Anti-Nowhere League’s debut album, We Are... The League (1982), is considered a classic in the punk genre, delivering fast, raw, and confrontational songs that captured the angst and defiance of the early ‘80s punk scene. Despite periods of hiatus and lineup changes, the band has remained active, continuing to release music and perform live, maintaining their reputation as one of punk rock’s most unfiltered and unapologetic acts.
