Humble Pie
Humble Pie is a British rock band formed in 1969, known for pioneering a blend of hard rock, blues, and boogie that helped define the sound of the 1970s. Fronted by the charismatic Steve Marriott, formerly of The Small Faces, and featuring guitarist Peter Frampton, the band quickly gained recognition for their powerful live performances and gritty, soulful sound. Humble Pie’s breakthrough came with their live album Performance Rockin' the Fillmore (1971), which showcased their heavy, blues-infused rock and became a cornerstone of their legacy. Hits like “I Don’t Need No Doctor” and “30 Days in the Hole” captured their high-energy, no-frills approach to rock ‘n’ roll. Despite lineup changes and Frampton’s departure for a solo career, Humble Pie continued to release influential albums and tour extensively. Their impact on hard rock and blues-rock remains significant, and they are celebrated as one of the premier live bands of their era.
