Cactus
Cactus is an American hard rock band formed in 1969, known for their high-energy performances and blues-infused rock sound. Often dubbed the “American Led Zeppelin,” Cactus was founded by former Vanilla Fudge members Carmine Appice (drums) and Tim Bogert (bass), alongside guitarist Jim McCarty and vocalist Rusty Day. The band quickly gained attention with their raw, gritty sound and powerful live shows. Their early albums, including Cactus (1970) and One Way… Or Another (1971), delivered heavy, riff-driven tracks that blended blues, rock, and boogie. Though their initial run was brief, Cactus left a lasting influence on the development of hard rock and heavy metal. The band has since reformed with various lineups, continuing to release new material and tour, keeping the spirit of classic, no-frills rock alive.
