D.I.
D.I. is an American punk rock band formed in 1981 in Fullerton, California, by vocalist Casey Royer, after his time with the Adolescents and Social Distortion. Known for blending the hardcore punk sound of Orange County with surf and new wave influences, D.I. became influential in the punk scene despite never achieving mainstream success. Their music, including tracks like “Richard Hung Himself,” has inspired many 1990s punk bands like The Offspring and Pennywise. Over the years, D.I. has seen numerous lineup changes, with Royer remaining the only constant member. The band continues to perform and release music, maintaining their status as a key figure in the punk rock community.
