Jordan Rudess, born Jordan Charles Rudes on November 4, 1956, is an acclaimed American keyboardist, composer, and software developer best known as a member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater and the supergroup Liquid Tension Experiment. A classically trained pianist who studied at Juilliard, Rudess transitioned into progressive rock, gaining recognition for his virtuosic keyboard skills. Since joining Dream Theater in 1999, he has contributed to numerous albums and is celebrated for his innovative use of synthesizers and complex compositions. Rudess is also known for his solo work and collaborations with artists like Steven Wilson and Ayreon. In 2011, he was voted the best keyboardist of all time in a MusicRadar poll.
