Mourning Noise
Mourning Noise is an American horror punk band formed in 1981 in Lodi, New Jersey, by drummer Steve Zing, who later gained recognition as a member of Samhain and Danzig. Emerging from the same scene that produced the Misfits, Mourning Noise became known for their fast-paced, raw sound and horror-themed imagery, making them an early influence in the horror punk genre. Although their initial run was brief, the band left a lasting impact with a handful of recordings that captured the gritty, DIY ethos of early punk. Mourning Noise’s music has since gained cult status among fans of punk and horror rock, solidifying their place as a key player in the genre’s formative years.
